Our Rotary Club of Woodland received the coveted Cliff Dochterman 'Spirit of Rotary Award' as 'Club of the Year' for 2025-26 by District 5160 during the District's Awards and Installation Dinner at the Hotel Winters in Winters. |

Demotion '26 |

On June 30 President Aniek Pflager was officially 'demoted' from the office following our Centennial year. More than 60 members and guests enjoyed a warm summer evening in the backyard of Gail and Tom Schwarzgruber and a buffet dinner of tri-tip & BBQ chicken. Immediate Past President Bob Nakken led the event with help from Jim Nolan who wrote a Melodrama: 'Rotary and Sex' for the occasion. President Nick Roncoroni and President-elect Gena Bravo were presented with their badges and pins. |

2026 Rotary International Convention in Taiwan |

President-elect Nick Roncoroni, his wife Ellen and their two children Elizabeth and Adam, traveled first to Japan, and then on to Taipei, Taiwan to attend the 2026 Rotary International Convention on behalf of our Club from June 3-17, 2026. |

Centennial Celebration 2026 |

The Rotary Club of Woodland was founded in 1926 and the Club has operated continuously since. On April 25, 2026 the Club, joined by the Woodland Sunrise and Woodland Luna Vista Clubs, held a Centennial Celebration at the Woodland and Community Center in which an estimated 400 members and guests attended. |

Senior BBQ 2025 |

A pleasant, warm Fall day greeted an estimated 250 local seniors who came to Rotary Park at the Yolo Fairgrounds for a BBQ chicken lunch with potato salad, watermelon, roll and ice cream for dessert provided by the Rotary Club of Woodland, and served by its members under the leadership of President Aniek Pflager. Thanks to Cracciolos for the food they provided. Leftovers went to first responders at local fire stations, and to the Fourth and Hope shelter. |

2025 Rotary International Convention in Calgary |

President-elect Aniek Pflager and husband Curtiss traveled to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to attend the 2025 Rotary International Convention in late June at the BMO Centre. Over 15,000 Rotarians from more than 120 countries attended. Aniek provided us with these images from the event. |

Demotion '25 |

Members and guests braved a warm evening to take in the Club's 2025 Demotion in the shaded backyard of our hosts Gail and Tom Schwarzgruber. Jim Nolan led a program to officially demote and thank outgoing Club President Bob Nakken who was joined by his wife Gaye. Bob endured some roasting about his golf exploits and long hair, but he received his retired President's plaque with thanks from the Club. Aniek Pflager received her President's badge as she will serve as Club President in 2025-26, our 100th year. |

2025 Dinner Auction |

President-elect Aniek Pflager and President Bob Nakken teamed up to lead an active committee organizing the 2025 Dinner Auction held at Velocity Island Resort on April 26. Approximately 200 members & guests enjoyed raising more than $39,000 for two beneficiaries: Yolo Farm to Fork to build gazebos to enhance outdoor learning in Woodland grammar school gardens; and Woodland Healthcare Foundation to assist in purchase of C-arm, an advanced imaging machine supporting orthopedic surgeries. |

Rest In Peace - Don Huff Jr. 1926-2024 |

The Club lost its eldest member Sunday, August 4, as Don Huff, Jr. passed away at 98 years of age. Don was a Paul Harris Fellow, and served as Club President in 1980-81, as both his father (1929-30) and son (2012-13) have also done. He was an active and enjoyable Rotarian and will be missed. Our thoughts go to Don Huff III and the entire Huff family. |

A buffet luncheon was held at The Hive as the Club Demoted, and thanked President Karl Diekman for his service this past year. IMPP Shawn Seyk presented Karl with a plaque and his Past President's badge. Karl thanked the Club for their support this past year and presented 'Quite Rotarian' pins to several members for their valuable work. Bob Nakken and Aniek Pflager each received their respective President's and President-elect badges. The meeting concluded with a standing ovation for President Karl. |

2024 Dinner Auction |

President-elect Bob Nakken and Past President Tabb Randolph led a team in organizing the 2024 Dinner Auction at the California Agriculture Museum on April 27. Approximately 200 members & guests enjoyed raising more than $40,000 for three beneficiaries: Yolo County Fair Heritage Foundation to assist in completing the FFA/4-H livestock auction arena; WCC Foster & Kinship Education Foundation; and Make It Happen. Many thanks to our sponsors, and everyone else for a great evening! |

Over 50 members and guests braved some warmer weather at Blue Note Brewery in Woodland on June 28 to Demote and thank President Shawn Seyk following his year as Club President. Immediate Past President Dan Stroski presented Shawn with a Past President's plaque from the Club. He also presented Karl Diekman with his Club President's badge and pin. |

Senior BBQ 2023 |

The Club's Senior Citizens BBQ in Rotary Park restarted at the Yolo County Fairgrounds after a 3 year absence due to the pandemic. Aniek Pflager did another great job leading the effort. Club members were out in force, dipping, grilling, and serving. Although attendance was about 1/3 of what it had been before the pandemic, those who came out enjoyed a great meal, sunshine, and ice cream! Fortunately, not a single drumstick was wasted! Fourth & Hope gladly accepted all the leftovers. |
