Christian Sherrill said that he was looking forward to spending time with family and also watching his 22 month old tear through the presents. Peter Faye was pleased to announce that he and Marilyn recently donated $1,000 to the Foundation. Pam and her family continued their tradition of adopting a needy family and was happy to announce that they dropped off the presents yesterday. Carey Sullivan will continue his tradition of working on Christmas Day. With the early work day Carey’s family must join him at 5AM to open presents before work begins. Randy Blake gets to host the family Christmas party this year. Kris Kristensen is looking forward to a quiet meal with family. Bob Tamblyn will continue his tradition of visiting the Shriners Hospital and going out to a movie. Marc Faye will be in San Francisco with family. Don Huff II has to buy twice as many presents for his wife Mary due to her birthday falling on Christmas day. Mark Ullrich couldn’t think of a funny Christmas story but he did say that he is looking forward to spending time with his family.
Rags to Riches

Today’s Program
Today’s program speaker was our very own Peter Faye, who was introduced by his brother Marc. Peter was President of our club in 1978 and District Governor in 1992. Peter spoke today about the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Peter was 11 years old on the day of the bombing and lived roughly three miles away. Peter spoke a lot about his father (Ivan) who happened to be working near the banks of Pearl Harbor when the bombing started. Ivan watched as the bomber planes dove down from the sky, wave after wave. After making sure all of his employees were taken care, Ivan, afraid that the islands would be invaded, reported for active duty. Ivan was in the reserves at the time. Mark Faye then read a letter that Ivan had written during this time. Marc and Peter said that their father never really talked about his military job but they started to find out more information about him later in life. Ivan was eventually awarded the Bronze Star.
