George donated a few dollars for his trip to the President’s Cup.  Rigo Torres missed a boxing trivia question, Roger Dorris paid for his trip to Las Vegas, and Scott Johnston found out that Niagara Falls is actually moving backwards.  DH3 and the rest of the club learned a little about lettuce.

Rags to Riches

Pat Imbach picked up a free lunch.

Today’s Program

Christian Sherrill introduced Ken Hill.  Ken Hill is a motorcycle coach/instructor.  Ken was born in Davis and currently lives in Woodland.  Ken showed a couple of videos of his students riding motorcycles at the Thunder Hill Raceway in Willows, CA.  Ken loves his job because he gets paid to ride motorcycles.  Ken showed one video of a student crashing and another where the rider gets up to 160 mph on the straight away.  Ken has fallen twice in the last three years, both times due to mechanical failures.  Ken said that crashes are primarily the result of abrupt controls (rushing entry into turns, not being aware of your surroundings and repeating mistakes).  Ken also critiques motorcycles for magazines.  Ken said that many times instructors teach their riders more about accelerating than braking.  He stated that respecting the brakes is very important when riding motorcycles.  Ken also does some motorcycle racing.
