Announcements and Presidents Remarks.
November 3rd Richard King will be a the Community Center for all Rotarians and especially for guests of Rotarians. 5:30 to 7:30
The District Race day at Golden State Fields on December 5th which is the day after our Christmas Party on the 4th.
Seasonal Flu vaccination clinic October 3rd from 9:30 to 12:30 at the Community Center. This is a free event. Volunteers are needed as well.
President Bob gave us Fall Words of Wisdom for some to guess who wrote them. Seems no one is wise, He went on to football, with George Berrittoni and Bob Moeller contributing
Woodland Sunrise Salmon Feed October 17th and there is a need for bartenders. Luna VIsta October Fest is September 26th.

Today’s Program
Howard Newens introduced Mary Healy the CEO of the Sacramento Zoo She spoke of the many new exibits and homes for their collection of annimals. They are building a larger enclosure for the giraffs in hopes that that will reproduce. One of the newer exhibits is the Red RIver Hogs. There is a Veterinary Hospital on the grounds wth a residency program for UC Davis vet students. You can actually see surgery and other proceedures through their new viewing area. The Sacramento Zoo not only has great animals on display but they are involved with conservation programs with support from other areas who they are partnered with. Most wild animals are not brought from the wilds of the tundra but are traded with other zoos around the country and world.
Some of the fundraisers held are Earth Fest (Oct 3rd) the King of Feasts and the ever popular Ice Cream Safari. For Halloween they will have Boo at the Zoo. They have installed a "Merry Go Round" with all wild animals depected. For $5,000 you can sponsor an animal. Private parties are held ofen and they have their own caterer.
