Today’s Program
Howard Newens introduced Bill Mueller the CEO and Managing Partner of Valley Vision. He spoke of "The Case for Regional Thinking and Action" . The Valley Vision region consists of 6,325 square miles, six counties, 22 cities and 2.2 million people. Woodland is right in the middle of the region. Because of the rapid growth expected by 2050, the Board of Valley Vision is busy working to see that that growth is managed in the best way possible, that management includes transportation, air quality, economic development and health care access for the region. This group designs, coordinates and carries out complex regional collaborations. In considering the consequences of rapid growth the questions pondered are; How should we grow?, Where should we grow? How should we travel around the region? How will the growth affect our environment?
This planning is citizen-driven in making these plans and protecting our natural resourses which include agriculture's future. For more information go to www.valleyvision.org.
