Jenna Green was happy that she was done camping and even happier that she won’t be doing any more camping for a very long time. Trivia Time – Kevin Haarberg, Bob Nakken, Kris Kristensen, Mahlon Whittle, Christian Sherrill and Clancy Duppong all paid for random basketball questions. Scott Johnston paid $5 for playing golf with someone that knew Roger knew but he had trouble remembering a majority of the information to pass along. Rags to Riches
Mary Ann Trongo was the big winner today.
Today’s Program
Rigo Torres quickly introduced his friend Hubert Bryant, former Service Manager of Elm Ford, and now full time collector of antique toys. Hubert brought about 10 different antique toys that he displayed. Hubert gave a brief history of each of the toys and talked about how many of the toy makers couldn’t succeed financially and many went out of business in the 30’s & 40’s. Many of the toys made Hubert displayed could not be produced today due to the lead based paint and sharp edges. Hubert also believes that today’s children ignore the old toys because they lack computers and high tech gadgets. Hubert has about 500 toys stored in his special garages at home. Hubert brought one car that would sell today for about $3,000. Most of the large vendors, museums, and conventions are held on the east coast. There are many magazines and newsletters devoted to antique toy collections.
